SUNSHINE FABLES
Created by Leah Brown for installation during the IPW 2026 at the Broward County Convention Center, "Sunshine Fables" is a temporary public art installation composed of laser-cut plywood panels layered with hand-sprayed stencil imagery, transforming the fence line into a sequence of visual parables drawn from life in Florida.
Inspired by stories shared among fellow artists, the work reimagines strange encounters with nature, memory, folklore and coincidence through allegorical scenes that echo the structure of ancient fables. Animals, vegetation, weather, and human figures intertwine in symbolic narratives reflecting the blurred boundary between the everyday and the surreal that often defines life in South Florida.
Artist Leah Brown works across sculpture, installation, drawing, and immersive media to explore transformation, interior wilderness, memory, and the emotional language of symbols.
